and I wanted to go to Jerusalem for religious reasons? Would Israel allow me in with an American passport/ study visa?
I would have to go around the West Bank from Amman right?
Could I go straight from Amman through the West Bank to Jerusalem? Or would I have to go around?
I want to know why the world thinks badly about Israel for defending itself when it has done nothing wrong and all the crap its people have taken in the past, I think they should open up a can of woopass on Hamas and all the people that say they shouldn’t even be allowed to live. Doesn’t it say in the Bible and many other religious books that Israel belongs to the Jews?
Where in the holy scriptures does this tell us …
please answer the question where in the Holy Scriptures is the answer.
It’s a question I’ve been wondering about for quite some time.
The Religious Right of American politics (any western politics, really) is quite supportive of Israel’s existence.
But here’s where I get confused.
The majority of the American Religious Right are (Protestant) Christians. They believe that to get to Heaven, you need to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
But most of the population of Israel are Jews. They don’t believe in Jesus.
Don’t Christians believe that if you don’t believe that Jesus died for your sins, you go to Hell?
Someone help me understand this. I’m a bit confused.
Note:
Keep in mind that I’m Irish, and as such, I’m not very well schooled in American politics in general.
Immitation Israel is the leading cause of all conflict.
The real one died a long time ago.
Let’s put this new Israel to the test to see if they are truly God’s chosen people. Let’s be neutral and leave Israel alone. Surely God will save them from their enemies if they are indeed his chosen people. Maybe if we stay out of it, God will part the Persian Gulf and swallow up all the Iranians, er somethin’ like that.
Please, let me know how to find the right kibbutz.
question for non israelites or jews, would you accept the existence of israel if israel relocated out of the arab region ?
We could always lock the religious fanatics up in special facilities where they can have all the religious dogma they like, they can brainwash their children to believe whatever hocus pocus they want to and they can make whatever stupid signs and bumper stickers they desire, but that could never happen, could it?
I’m curious. I’m really politically ignorant. But I don’t understand this die hard love this government has with that country. Usually when I asked this off of Yahoo people start talking Bible talk to me.
Reality check that is true but I don’t know any christian that doesn’t still feel some brotherly link with jews. Being that most feel they share pretty much atleast a portion of the same book.
Anthony….thats the answer I usually hear when I asked offline. Not in those words exactly though but pretty much the ideology.
It seems to be that PM Olmert is one of the worst leaders in the history of Israel. Though under his rule economy of Israel is doing well, however, his political decisions on everything else are less then desirable. Furthermore, he has the lowest rating for his term then any other world leader.
Then the other day the far left Meretz party’s founder mentioned on Israeli radio that he is against bringing Orthodox Jews into Israel. Well, his exact words were, “We do not need their kind in Israel?”
Are we losing our zest and drive in building a Jewish nation?
By examining their actions it beginning to look that we are repeating the same mistakes that the Jews have made during the Roman Empire. It wasn’t the Romans that destroyed the Temple, but two Jewish families who could not get along with each other. I just hope that we are not making the same mistakes all over again.
News says iran is close to acquiring nukes, probably in a few months,if they attack how would israel react?Like they did in holocoust?
Atahaulp…Ya your school teacher whispered it in my ears.If this is your attitude you will have many troubles.
i am writing a paper about the need for religious toleration in israel-palestine and was wondering what some good points would be to discuss about. like why is religious toleration important between the two nations
If they don’t like the picture, then they have the right not to print it but they do not have the right to alter it and blot out the women. If find this totally unacceptable for any so called democratic government to allow this hateful activity under the cover of religion.

Although i wouldnt really call it a war seems Palestine dont even have their own Army, I’ve been reading up alot on Islam lately and am thinking of converting im in very early stages but then i realised i dont even know why this fight & war is happening. And why all these innocent people are being killed
@esc: it would be unwise to compare Israel to the arab countries,
we all know that corruption, fanaticism, dictatorship and brainwashing reign supreme in all the arab countries because of religion, i m afraid that Israel might suffer also from religion and engage itself on a similar slope;
for example: many young people in Israel seek to become religous in order to avoid the military service (believing that is G..od who’s protecting Israel and not the IDF …)
edit: … to compare Israel to "muslim" coutries
3 reasons for my thesis essay.
well its the HolyLand, do they go, and this part of the bible happened ::points out the window::: over there
I know they run clinics and schools, but I’m interested in what they did there that changed many peoples points of view.
If you speak Hebrew, here is their website (I don’t speak Hebrew so I have no idea what it says)
