How safe is it to travel to Egypt in light of the war in Israel-Lebanon?
We’ve been planning with great excitement our tript to Egypt in Nov/Dec. Just when we’re ready to book tickets, people have begun asking us if were sure that it was safe now with the war in the middle-east! We’re not extremely worried about being targeted as such for hate crimes, but does the war make any part of Egypt potentially unsafe? How about the Sinai peninsula?

Perfectly safe…the Answer above me is great as well….
before U go …check the State Dept. website to see if its OK to go.
If anything happens to you its tour own fault for being so Nieve. Take head of the warnings. you obviously have never been in a war zone. And i can tell you; you don’t want to be !!!!
I would say don’t go to Sinai to close.I believe you will be okay.Things should be calm by Nov/DEC.
i do not live in egypt but i think there is safe .the problem is beween palestine lebnon israel and surria maybe is nearly not safe but egypt maybe not.but you can investigate and then go .good luck and enjoy there!
the war is not in the middle east … its in the lebanon-israel area which is away from egypt …
which makes egypt safe from the war going on …
dont worry about anything they say because egypt isnt taking part in the war … its safe
and by nov/dec the war would have ended making it safer …
enjoy the trip and have fun
Im going in three weeks nothing is going to put me off. Stop worrying and enjoy yourself. Sharm is a great place.
Well … nowhere is SAFE nowadays (remember London air crafts) and Egypt is considered safe when compared to surrounding countries as you know
Egypt has a special authority for tourists safety and I think this authority is on alert nowadays … I’m Egyptian and I see tourist buses well secured with police.
anyway take care as nowhere is very safe as I told you but that doesn’t mean that we stay at our homes terrified although that there are others who care for our safety
I’m an American and I was in Egypt last year and we could not have felt safer. The Egyptians are really dear people. Just use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. If any problems develop, consult the tourist police, they are very visible and generally nice with a decent command of English and other languages.
I’m living in Dahab - Sinai. it is pretty safe, lots of tourists.
Egypt is not enemy for Israel now. but not a friend. Egypt dont want problems with Israel as Israel do. it is pretty safe, Egypt is not related any way to these problems. you can see Israeli tourists here right now. I’m Egyptian and I know
its extremely safe Israel can not do any thing for you because Israel afraid of Egypt
