I plan to travel in Israel this May but I am not sure what to expect. Is travel in Israel safe at this time?
According to a U.S. Department of State’s travel warning published on July 13, 2007, "The Gaza Strip has witnessed considerable violence in recent months, both between Palestinian factions and between Israeli security forces and armed Palestinian groups. Similar incidents have also occurred in the West Bank. Violent demonstrations, kidnappings and shootings have also occurred in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank".
I was in Egypt this past August; it seemed safe and secure. Just wondering if it is the same in Israel.

Last time I went, I felt as if I was less safe here in NY haha… It’s usually safe, unless there’s a war obviously… Just stay away from Gaza and you should be fine.
Have fun! Ill be going back this summer!
People keep their heads down cause they don’t know what the government there will do next. It’s quite unstable.
Israel is safe. While the impression given to the general US population is that Israel is under constant bombardment from missiles from Paelstinians in Gaza and the West Bank, the truth is very different.
Israel was forcibly wrested from their Palestine and Israel has since continually and illegally annexed further Palestinian land and resources. This has deliberately reduced the Palestinian territories into disconnected and unviable cantons - effectively large concentration camps.
Inside the concentration camps, which cannot support themselves as so much of their resources have been appropriated by the Israelis, the oppression and harassment has been cruel and relentless. Constant air, missile, and helicopter gunship strikes and official and civilian kidnappings and assassinations. Periodic tank-led invasions and destruction followed by further land occupations.
Every now and again, just to rub it in, the camps are blockaded and no UN or other international food and medical or other aid is allowed in and/or power and fuel supplies, also controlled by the US/Israelis, are cut. The current attempts to escape from the Gaza concentration camp into Egypt are a result of one of these US/Israeli super-atrocities.
Very occasionally, an instance of a lonely missile fired from one of the concentration camps, or a suicide bomber - expressions of impotent frustration.
These crimes against humanity are ‘explained’ to the world as reactions against the mythical attacks which spring from Palestinian determination to destroy Israel. The fact is that Palestine, and the Arab League including Iran, accepted a two-state solution on international borders thirty years ago. It is the US and Israel which have blocked any solution or even serious negotiation and lied about the situation from beginning to end.
Israel is extremely unsafe. There are rockets being fired to other areas such as Sederot, Ashkelon, and other surrounding areas. Imagine going with a friend, separating to do different things, and trying to meet back up with your friend only to find they were killed by a rocket.
