Would it be insensitive to invite a Jew to go to an event this weekend or early next week?
Would it be insensitive to invite a Jew to go to an event this weekend or early next week?
I am not a jew, and do not have any Jewish family.
Near where I work there is a large jewish community, and there is a Kosher Deli.
As a matter of curiosity, I would love try some Jewish ’specialty’ foods, but I don’t know if that is considered acceptable to the Jews themselves, or whether their food is considered ’sacred’ and not to be shared with outsiders.
I don’t really want to go in and ask to buy, incase they have to refuse on religious grounds, and doing so makes them feel awkward.
Someone told me that since I am a jew I get a free tirp to israel. Cuz its my birthright……how do I. Make this happen and how?
When he reaches Israel off course, and not being rammed by Israeli battle ships…
blwobo: Gary is not a Jew, he is the patron deity of the religion Garyism, he loves everyone, even you, and saves you with a wheelbarrow full of love
..god gave it to you. Why arn’t you living there?
A real Jew l;ives in Israel. Serves in the military. Will fight and die for Israel and his god. Eats kosher.
Where do you stand? What is your standard for being a real Jew? Do you think that Israel is a target because it has always been a target. Is your safety the reason you live in America?
I know that as a Jew i can apply for citizenship in israel without almost anyother proof, so lets say taht i do just that while on a vacation there. So would I have to go through any other extraneous measures to maintain dual citizenship in the US and Israel, or is it just an automatic thing?
Esau was a skilled hunter, known for his brute strength as well as for being particularly hairy. Jacob, on the other hand, was cunning. He snagged his brother’s birthright by being crafty and deceitful, rather than demanding it at the point of a sword. And it was Jacob, not Esau, who changed his name to Israel and became the first official Jew.
What does it mean to get ‘jewed’? Which of Isaac’s sons reminds you more of a ‘Shylock’? If Esau had become Israel instead, would Jews be sterotyped as athletes, rather than money lenders?
Obviously this is just a stereotype, and no more accurate than the one about Africans being good at sports, or Asians being good at math. Anyone who actually thinks these are valid seriously needs to get out more.
Never the less, the stereotype does exist. Which do you suppose came first, the stereotype or God’s preference for Jacob?
jeez. well, I never knew I was a jew. what’s up with that?
Because I’m a Jew, I’m eligible for birthright (an organization that sends Jews to Israel for free) and becuse my older sister is an Israeli fanatic who wants me to be in touch with my Jewish roots. Also my mom was born in Israel.
I really don’t want to go but i had trouble disagreeing with the argument "but it’s free" so at everyone’s nagging I applied for the trip, I wanted to sabatogue my application but my heart wasn’t in it, but out of respect to my family who felt it was really important, i answered the questions in a way that made it sound like i actually wanted to go.
Now the trip’s a couple weeks away, and what can i say, it doesn’t interest me. I’d like to see places of the world i’ve already been and i’ve been to Israel before twice (when I was 6 and
and I feel guilty because i’ll bet there were jews who actually wanted to go on the trip. I think even though it’s free, i lose a deposit if i don’t go.
I’m 24 but i have a good memory for my childhood and i remember everything very vividly. I want to see someplace new. My mom’s parents were born in Persia, so i think that’s just as much home to me. I also am fairly religious (conservative) in Judaism, but I believe what’s important is promoting religious tolerance here in America and not concerning ourselves with Israel. Israel was needed back in the day when Jews weren’t accepted elsewhere but now we can live in peace with other Americans.
I have studied angelology and wish to know more about angels and kabbalah, is it necessary to become a jew to study kabbalah and if so how do i do this please and what does it involve?
as i walk down the street of NYC i don find any jew women walking w/ out a line of her kids behind her and few in her baby travel cart
If they live in a remote location and can’t use a rabbi to act as the agent how can they sell it themselves to a non-Jew directly themselves, on paper (so that they still can retain the product and "buy" it back after Passover).
I have a copy of the contract a rabbi uses, but my question is how do I do it myself?

why do jew and israeli defenders say jerusalem was the capitol of israel for 3000 years when israel was a dismantled country for over 1500 years. the jew had moved out of the area in diaspora. left, abandoned the area…. why do jew people think they can immigrate to Palestine and kill the natives of the area?
So, I really want to go on a Birthright trip this summer. Like the title says, I’m "half Jewish," my dad is, my mom’s not. I’m not baptized or anything, and I’m not practicing either religion actively, but I have recently become more in touch with my Jewish heritage since I am at college and have the chance to be.
I really want to go on a Birthright trip to Israel, but I am afraid that I will be discriminated against in Israel or on the trip. Has anyone ever been on one, or can someone give me advice?
Oh, and don’t lecture me on how I’m not "technically Jewish" since my mom’s Christian. I know that already.
Oh really? because the WEBSITE says that it’s for people who have one or two Jewish parents AND who do not actively practice another religion. so…check your facts.
DO NOT tell me I’m not "technically Jewish" and that there’s "no such thing as half a jew" because my mom isn’t- I KNOW THAT
I am a jew living in costa rica. costa rica was the first country to put his embassy in jerusalem. the only ones there were the costarican and the salvatorian. that was one of the only things that made me proud of costa rica. the president did it because the UN does not recognize jerusalem as israel’s capital. i wanna know your opinions peope. do you think he did right moving itç? cause i totally disagree.
I know about the Taglit/Birthright trip that is free for young people. But I was wondering if anyone knows of something like this that exists for adults. My parents are jewish but they have very little money. Are there any programs that offer free or discounted trips to Israel for Jewish adults that want to become aquainted with their heritage?
1st - I’m a female 2nd - I’m of age to go on the trip but I have already been to Israel on an orchestra retreat, so I do not qualify. My parents, sadly, have wanted to go to Israel for a very long time but have never had the money to go. G-d forbid that every Jew isn’t wealthy! Way to keep the stupid stereotype alive.
Freedom - you are a jerk…I have a job…but I am 25 and I have student loans…did you go to school? obviously not. If you did…then you would understand that even people with jobs can’t always afford the most lavish of trips…I’m not asking for Paris or Rome…I’m asking for Israel - because of the Taglist/Birthright issue…I was asking out of curiousity….get a freakin’ clue.
And no surprise that Freedom hasn’t gotten a best answer yet.
Will Israel continue its failure?

JD: Olmert knows something that you don’t. From hes own experience he learned that you can win a war against army or a system but you can never win against people who believe in their rights.
Everyone here agrees on the simple and very clear fact that Olmert said. Even your Jew brothers. Even all news channels, except yourself trying to play the word games which is old Jewish tactic. Which leaves us with only one liar here.

Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; 2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; 3 And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
no where here does it say this is referring to jews, only abraham’s descendents. doesn’t this include jews, christians and MUSLIMS.
jews will burn in hell. they turned their backs on god. jesus even said the nonbelievers worship in the synagogue of satan.
who else benefitted from 9/11 and the war on terror except jews and the jewish media who have sold us this war on terror(muslims)
i don’t hate jews. just the elite jews that try to run the world through their media. there are many christians and muslims that are every bit as smart and successful as jews but they aren’t allowed to control any part of american press it seems. why else can you explain the jewish monopoly in our media? i hate any people that want to conrol people’s minds through lies like todays media does. i guess its just a coincidence that 100% of the tv media are controlled by jews. also a coincidence we are at war with their enemy, too. by the way, i also hate any muslim or christian that wants to control the world with their lies. it has noting to do with regular jews, christians, and muslims. it has everything to do with radicals in these religions and this happens to include the jews who own our media, as it also includes those who try to force their views on me through any other means besides facts.
it matters because they have sold us a war against their enemies. who bought the entire world trade center complex 6 weeks prior to 9/11? the jew larry silverstein. he paid 200 million on a 99 year lease, then won a 7 billion dollar insurance settlement. the jews are the ones responsible for 9/11. this is not the first time they launched a false flag attack. remember S.S. Liberty.? that attack was also designed to bring us into a war with the arabs for israel.
Soon after the end of World War II, there were three basic para-military Zionist organizations in Palestine, working against the Arab people, with the specific purpose of driving it out of Palestine. These were the Haganah, the Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern Gang.
Before the British Mandate, the Jewish settlers had formed a group of mounted armed watchmen called "Hashomar" and with the advent of the British Mandate, it became the Haganah (Defense). With a membership of 60,000 Zionist Jews, the Haganah had a field army of 16,000 trained men and a unit called the Palmach, which was a full-time force, numbering about 6000.
The Irgun Zvai Leumi included between 3000 and 5000 armed terrorists, and grew out of the Haganah and its Palmach branch in 1933. The Irgun was not ready to obey the Jewish Agency which sought to dilute the terror of the Haganah in order not to lose its respectability.
In 1939, one of Irgun’s commanding officers, Abraham Stern, left the parent organization and formed the Stern Gang, numbering some 200 to 300 dangerous fanatics.

How is it over there? How do they treat American travelers? I’m a 20 year old college student looking to go somewhere cool, and Israel came up. I know Jerusalem is more kosher and strict and Tel Aviv is more laid back and crazy, but how are the people there, being a non-Jew would Jewish girls even talk to me, would they be interested in hooking up or would i be an outsider in clubs and such.
and another thing, how much would a night out in tel aviv cost? How much are drinks, food ect. If i go I will probably stay at a hostel since they are so cheap
and is March a go time to go, is it hot or cold, what is the average temp. for that time of year
They seem to have many of the same concepts, and basically the same goal as each other. They just seem to word it a little differently.
opinions?
and please dont tell me that i dont know anything about kabbalah because im not a jew and havent studied it for many years, because thats not true. its not jewish mysticism. if that is your idea of kabbalah im sorry but your wrong.
This is a real question, I have always wanted to go to israel, and i am going to soon. Do you think I could find my soul mate there? I am an american reformed jew, not lesbian, and do not speak hebrew fluently.
According to jewish laws, what would happen to that jew if he ate normal food instead of just kosher?
Im planning a sumer vacation for going to Egypt then Israel and then Jordan. Are Egypt and Jordan safe for a jew to travel to?
I know I would have to go through nationalization or something like that, but does any one know the steps to gaining citizenship in Israel if you are non-Jew? thank you!
